Opal
Opal is a 15-year-old miniature horse with a big personality and an even bigger mane.
Though short in stature, she is known for her tendency to be a typical mare…bossy and no-nonsense. Her favourite person in the world is our farrier and she immediately becomes sweet and affectionate in his presence. Butter wouldn’t melt!
Opal’s favourite snack is everything and anything, particularly if it’s not hers.
Merlin
Merlin is a 14-year old miniature horse and Opal’s loyal minion. He’s besotted with her and likes to know where she is at all times.
He’s a happy boy who loves a fuss and a good scritch.
Merlin has an often performed party trick of smiling and showing all his teeth. His favourite snack is a Herball or two.
Both horses are prone to laminitis due to previous attacks before being with us, so snacks and treats are carefully monitored. Thankfully we have prevented any further occurrences by doing this. We will watch Opal’s figure, even if she doesn’t want to.
